Modern Mummification...?

As we begin our first full day of vacation, we don't plan to do much because many attractions found in Salt Lake City can be considered parallels to the attractions in New York City. I have done some research and was looking forward to three main things; The Leonardo, Oh Mai (Viatenmese Restaurant), and Brughe's Waffle and Fries. First we eat a light breakfast at the Sheraton Club and then load the car for a short auto tour of the city. We passed a pyramid structure that is actually used for modern mummification of not only pets but also human beings.
It's seemed a lot bigger in the pictures I encountered doing research. It was rather underwhelming. One thing I did not expect to see was the elaborately painted walls of an old industrial site. The place claims to have ghosts and stuff because of deaths of factory workers. To be blunt, everywhere had people that died. This industrial site couldn't be any more haunted than the next abandoned building. The art was pretty cool though. On our auto tour, we also passed the shopping center, however we did not go in yet. The public parking ran underground and was very organized. After completing the your we went to the Vietnamese restauarant I selected. The spring rolls were exceptional and I ordered a Bahn-Mi(a sandwich). The pho was decent except the sandwich was on point. After the meal, we headed back to the hotel where we waited for almost three hours before leaving again because my sister needed to do some work for my dad. When we finally decided to leave , we decided to go to the mall instead of The Leonardo(a contemporary art and science museum). We bought a few things and then became hungry. We went to the Brughe's Waffles and Fries, where we over ordered by a lot. It came out to two orders of dessert waffles, five orders of fries, two hot dogs, and last, but definitely not least, two burgers. We brought the food back to the hotel to enjoy along with the Hors D'ourves. For a dessert, but not for the taste buds, we headed out to the Great Salt Lake to watch a gorgeous sunset over the landscape. As we arrived, my sister warned us a myriad of times that the lake has a dreadful stench. I was convinced it couldn't be that bad so I rolled down my window only to confirm my sister's precautions. However, the stench did not come alone. As we unloaded the car and headed down toward the water, we found millions of bugs. With every step a cloud of brine flies arose. They didn't bite or anything, I just do not like bugs. While I continued to the water I came across a dead bird. The eyes missing, bt the feathers still intact. It was rather disturbing and that was when I decided to turn around and wait in the car for half an hour until the sun actually started to descend. The sunset was breathtaking especially as a sail boat drifted across the horizon.
When the sun decided to finally go away for the next few hours we began to leave. A man with a long pony tail came to close the area because it was sunset. We quickly began to converse and I learned many things about him. He was originally from the Navajo clan except he could not stay because he has no family there anymore. He seemed pretty sorrowful when he explained how he was forced to assimilated into the "White Man's" world. I didn't really know what to think of him. He also volunteered to be in the Viatenam war. He talked about his ATV and 3 yachts, but that was really all he could talk about from the present. That was all he had. He seemed pretty lonely except the interaction with people at the Great Salk Lake probably keep him some what happy. The one thing that really stood out was how he constantly separated his world from the "white mans world."
